3 Description
The TPS22959 is a small,ultra-low Ron,singlechannel load switch with controlled turn on.Thedevice contains an N-channel MOSFET that canoperate over an input voltage range of 0.8 V to 5.5 Vand supports a maximum continuous current of 15 A.The combination of ultra-low Ron and high currentcapability of the device makes it ideal for drivingprocessor rails with very tight voltage dropouttolerances.The controlled rise time of the devicegreatly reduces inrush current caused by large bulkload capacitances,thereby reducing or eliminatingvoltage droop on the power supply.The switch canbe independently controlled via the ON pin,which iscapable of interfacing directly with low-voltage controlsignals originating from microcontrollers or lowvoltage discrete logic.The device further reduces thetotal solution size by integrating a 224-0 pull-downresistor for quick output discharge(QOD)when theswitch is turned off.
The TPS22959 is available in a small 3.00 mm x 3.00mm WSON-8 package(DNY).The DNY packageintegrates a thermal pad which allows for high powerdissipation in high current and high temperatureapplications.The device is characterized foroperation over the free-air temperature range of-40℃ to 105℃.
