With a melting point of 2446°C and a boiling point of 4428°C, iridium is seen as one of the most unreactive and corrosion resistant materials known to man. It has extremely low toxicity, yet it has an extremely high density and melting point.
Iridium Wire Rhenium metals are available in purities of 99.9 percent, 99.95 percent and 99.99 percent, iridium metals in purities of 99 percent, 99.9 percent, 99.95 percent and 99.99 percent and platinum metals in purities of 99.9 percent, 99.95 percent, 99.99 percent and 99.999 percent . Precious metals and alloys also include ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, osmium and gold.
Iridium is an ideal material for the tip of spark plugs and has been used to make a crucible for artificial crystals manufacturing.
