Since Kovar Alloy is tough and versatile, while employing extensive quality controls throughout UNS K94610 alloy’s manufacturing process to ensure uniform physical and mechanical properties for ease in deep drawing, stamping and machining are consistently achieved. Furthermore, the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of Kovar is its most dynamic mechanical property.
The expansion alloy kovar Alloy Plate is precisely formulated and controlled so that its coefficient of thermal expansion is very close to that of hard glass or ceramic, meaning that it expands and contracts at similar rates. As such, it is well suited for applications where it is used in combination with glass or ceramic materials, especially where an airtight seal must be maintained over a wide temperature range.
