Fine Brass Woven Wire Mesh for Clay and Powder Filtration
Brass is an alloy that is composed of copper and zinc, and normally there are two types of popular brass used in the wire mesh industry. One type is with approximately 65% copper, and 35% zinc, and another consists of 70% copper and 30% zinc. It depends on the different work environments and customer requirements, you could choose the right type. Like common copper, brass is also soft and malleable and is very easily attacked by ammonia and similar salts.
The presence of zinc in brass is very important because it provides added abrasion resistance and allows higher tensile strength; it also makes the wire harder and stronger than the soft copper wire. For these reasons, brass woven wire mesh is very widely used in filtration and separation for clay and powder applications, also the paper-making industries.
Because of its bright golden yellow color, the brass woven wire mesh is also very popular in architectural, decorative, and even artistic applications.
