Introduction
The locking wire thread insert is a new type of threaded fastener, which is a spring-like concentric body of internal and external threads that is precisely machined from high-precision diamond-shaped cross-section stainless steel wire. The locking type wire thread insert is to add one or several turns of the locking ring on the basis of the ordinary type.
Helicoil Free-Running Inserts (Helicoil Free-Running Inserts) are compared with ordinary steel thread inserts. They have one or more polygonal locking rings in the middle. They can be on the screw surface when the screw is screwed in. A strong elastic force is generated on the upper part to ensure reliable locking and effectively avoid the loosening of the fastener due to vibration. The part above the locking ring can be screwed in by hand. After the locking ring is screwed, it is necessary to use mechanical methods to install the screw. The locking wire thread insert has multiple disassembly and assembly without reducing the tightening torque of the thread.
The difference between the locking wire thread insert and the ordinary wire thread insert is that a pentagonal or hexagonal ring (locking ring) of 1 to 2 turns is specially made in the middle of it.
When the bolt is screwed into the threaded hole formed by the locking wire thread insert, the bolt will receive resistance at the position of the locking ring. If the bolt continues to be screwed in forcefully, the polygonal side of the locking ring will bend elastically, and the elastic type will become close to Round, but there is always a tendency for the locking side to return to a straight side, so that the side of the locking ring clamps the bolt tightly to achieve the purpose of locking the bolt. When subjected to vibration and impact, the screws can be prevented from loosening and falling off, and the bolts can be disassembled repeatedly, which has better process performance than usual locking devices.
