In the annealing process, the wheel (conductive wheel) in constant contact with the copper wire needs to rotate with the wire, so it will be worn and belongs to vulnerable parts. Therefore, additional conductive rings need to be used to achieve the effect of conductivity and wear resistance, and it is also easy to replace.

If the copper conductive ring is used, the quality of the wire itself will be better, but the copper strip itself is not wear-resistant, while nickel has good conductivity and wear resistance, so the nickel strip is usually used as the conductive strip in the process of continuous annealing.

The commonly used annealed nickel strip requires the purity of nickel content higher than 99.6% to ensure its wear resistance and good conductivity.
