Pear Drop Rope Socket​ Wireline Tool String

I. Overview 

The Pear Drop Rope Socket is used to attach wireline to the tool string. The upper section is to load and the lower section is to lead. Fishing neck is available on the top.

III. Structural features: 

Structural features: Pear-shaped rope cap consists of body, lock pin, lock sleeve, etc. The lower end of the body is internally threaded to connect with the tool string; The upper part is provided with an outer fishing neck with a 90 taper end, which is convenient for fishing and cutting off the steel wire; There are smooth holes inside to accommodate the lock pin and lock sleeve. The locking pin is made of copper, which is pear-shaped, and can have a circular arc groove around the outside for clamping the steel wire. Lock sleeve is a kind of sleeve with smooth conical surface in its inner hole, which has high hardness and plays the role of clamping steel wire in cooperation with lock pin.

IV. Usage:

1. firstly, the steel wire passes through the rope cap body and the lock sleeve;

2. Bend the head of the steel wire (the shape and size are similar to the lock pin);

3. Clamp the locking pin on the bent head of the steel wire;

4. Put the lock sleeve down so that the steel wire is stuck in the lock pin and lock sleeve;

5. Lift the steel wire and pull the lock pin and lock sleeve into the rope cap body;

6. Run the tool string on the internal thread connection at the lower part of the body. Note: due to the influence of the weight of the tool string, sliding friction exists between the lock sleeve and the body, so in order to prevent the steel wire from twisting, a rotary joint can be connected to the lower part of the rope cap.

V. Maintenance:

1. Regularly check whether the lock pin lock sleeve is damaged or deformed and replace it in time;

2. After the steel wire is used for a period of time, the first section of the wire should be cut off and the rope cap should be made again, so as to avoid the wire breakage caused by excessive fatigue at the end of the wire.
