Both solar and wind power are wonderful green energy sources that cannot be exhausted. Wind charge controllers can also be PWM or MPPT controllers, which work the same way, with the same pros and cons. The difference is in connecting additional components into the system. If the turbine is connected to the grid, there is not necessarily other electrical equipment or load shedding in the system. The charge controller will simply transfer the load to the grid. An obvious problem is that during a power outage, the wind turbines also need to be shut down because the excess power has nowhere to go. Therefore, it might be a good idea to connect offloading equipment, as in an off-grid wind energy system. Therefore, excess power can be fed to the grid or to an unloading device, usually a fan, heater or special resistor.
