Cleaning vinyl records with an Ultrasonic Cleaner. This ticks all the boxes with regards to non-contact with the surface of the record and they can be cleaned very thoroughly. Microscopic dust particles are removed from the very bottom of the record groove. The less physical contact anything has with the face of the disc, the better and most cleaning methods require some kind of rubbing or brushing. In an ideal World, the only item to touch the surface of a record should be a stylus. Ultrasonic cleaning is non-contact.
If you have a collection of old or new vinyl records, you will understand the importance of keeping them clean and dust free. Even with a budget record deck, the difference in playback quality can easily be greatly improved by cleaning. But no matter how carefully you put a record away, over time dust somehow finds it’s way into the inner sleeve. And each time the record is played, this dust will damage the grooves if not removed. The question is how do you clean vinyl records safely?
Unlike hand cleaning and brushing, ultrasonic cleaning is much more effective in removing particles from the intricate grooves of vinyl records.
As noted, the microscopic bubbles reach into the finely etched grooves of records much more effectively than any cloth. The bubbles do not abrade or wear down the surface of the record. Ultrasonic cleaners can also accomplish the task of cleaning records in a fraction of the time of most other methods.

First Step:
Add a record cleaning solution to the tank fill line. We suggest 2-4 drops of a wetting agent (such as a dishwashing liquid) per gallon of distilled water.
Next Step - Cleaning
Follow the instructions that come with your CleanerVinyl Pro System.
1. Stack the records on the shaft of the drive motor, alternating with spacers. With the Pro System you can clean up to 12 LPs or 45s per bath.
2. Slip the end cap over the last record with slight pressure and tighten.This will hold the records in a fixed position as they rotate through the solution.
3. Slip the bearing support over the drive shaft end and position the unit on the cleaning tank rims.
4. Clamp the drying fan assembly on the short dimension of the tank.
5. Activate the variable speed motor to rotate the records through the cleaning solution.
Next Step - Drying
Cleaning time varies based on the condition and number of records being cleaned. You'll establish a routine and can use cleaning time to attend to other matters.
At the end of the cleaning cycle, either
1. Turn off the drive motor
2. Drain the tank solution into a container for later use if not using the Lift-Pro assembly
Or
1. Raise the optional Lift-Pro assembly and records above the level of the cleaning solution.
2. Turn on the drive motor and activate the fan
3. When all droplets have evaporated your cleaning, operation is completed.

How does digital ultrasonic cleaner work?
The ripple effect is caused by the ultrasonic sound waves.The ultrasonic cleaning system sends high frequency sound waves through a cleaning solution. This frequency leaves micron sized super heated bubbles in the sound waves wake. When these bubbles collapse against the fuel injector components the heat and energy of their implosions together with the fuel injector cleaning solution work like millions of little scrub brushes. This scrubbing brush action remove dirt and oxidation from the internal surface of the contaminated fuel injector parts.

How To Start Ultrasonic Cleaning?
Select a location that supports an orderly flow of work. Proximity to a sanitary drain is ideal for disposing of spent cleaning solution, but first check with local authorities. While elma tec clean A4 cleaning solution is biodegradable it’s wise to be sure it’s OK to pour down the drain.
Following is a brief description of the fuel injector cleaning process:
Fill the tank half full of water and add the correct amount of cleaning solution concentrate. As an example, for the ¾ gallon tank add approximately 2/3 cup; for the 1.6 gallon tank 1-1/4 cup. Continue adding water to the tank fill line.
Degas the solution by operating the ultrasonic cleaner for about 20 minutes. This drives off cavitation inhibiting entrained air and also mixes your solution. The degassing step must be performed every time you prepare fresh cleaning solution.
When you are ready to clean:
Carefully position the fuel injectors in the basket with nozzle holes facing up. It’s important that the solution accesses the interior of the injectors.
Activate the ultrasound, lower the basket into the solution and place the lid on the tank to reduce evaporation and noise. Set the timer for 15 minutes. Cleaning time depends on condition and can be adjusted either way. Depending on fuel injector configuration it may be beneficial to remove the basket and reposition the injectors. (Note the solution will get hot, do not reach into it, and consider wearing protective gloves.)
When satisfied rinse the injectors in fresh water and blow dry with an air hose.
Bath Maintenance
Contaminants that float to the surface should be skimmed off and set aside. When the cleaning solution loses its effectiveness it must be replaced. Drain the tank and dispose of the solution and collected skimmings, according to local regulations. Follow the cleaner’s instruction manual on cleaning the tank then fill it with fresh solution.
