Product Description
CuAl8 is a moderate-strength aluminium bronze alloy used for weld overlay and metalizing in automotive and other manufacturing applications and for the build-up and repair of bearing and corrosion-resistant surfaces. Thus it is used to overlays on shafts, propellers, housings, couplings, bushings, valve seats, pumps, and other surfaces needing a bronze wearing surface and in refineries, steel and pulp mills.
Equivalent to: Tafa 10T, Sulzer Metco Sprabronze.
Surface Preparation
Surface should be clean, white metal, with no oxides (rust), dirt, grease, or oil on the
surface to be coated. Note: It is best not to handle surfaces after cleaning.
Recommended method of preparation is, to grit blast with 24 mesh aluminum oxide,
rough grind, or rough machine in a lathe.
