Working Principle:
Induced draft cross-flow cooling towers use an induced draft fan, usually located at the top or side of the cooling tower, to draw air from the inside of the cooling tower.
This type of cooling tower is cross-flow, meaning that the cooling water flows relatively perpendicular to the air flow direction, which helps increase the heat exchange surface area and improve cooling efficiency.
Structural Features:
Induced draft cross-flow cooling towers usually have induced fans, fill layers and water collectors at the top or side.
Cooling water flows in from the top of the tower, passes through the fill layers, and exchanges heat with the rising air. The heat in the hot water is transferred to the air, thereby cooling the water temperature.
Advantages:
The design of the induced draft cross-flow cooling tower increases the contact area between the cooling water and the air, which helps improve the heat exchange efficiency.
The cross-flow design can reduce fill resistance, improve cooling effect, and reduce fan power consumption.
