We have put zirconia alumina grain, resin over resin, close coated, on sturdy Y-weight polyester backing. Benefit by the zirconia self-sharpen effect provides great efficiency in metal grinding. We also manage to maintain the abrasive cost low.
Zirconia alumina grain is a very hard and extreme toughness, extremely wear-resistant, the eutectic crystalline structure, which allows for one of the most durable materials in the abrasive industry. high self-dressing ability, high sanding efficiency, long lifetime, outperforming commodity abrasives like brown fused aluminum oxide, and silicon carbide. Ideal to finish titanium alloy, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, etc.
A closed coat product has a higher number of abrasives cutting points per square inch and results in a higher stock removal rate and a long time before the abrasive wears out.
Top-coating is usually with stearate, which offers the grinding-active additional layer improves the cutting performance whilst reducing the temperature in the contact zone. This significantly extends the service life of the abrasive.
