1. Product Paramenters
The voltage of the electricity generated by the generator is increased so that it can be sent to the electrical appliances in the industrial area and urban distribution network through the transmission line. Transformers use the principle of electromagnetic induction to change a certain voltage into another or two voltages of the same frequency. Step-up transformers are used in hydropower stations, and step-down transformers are used at the end of transmission lines or distribution areas. There are two types of transformers: three-phase and single-phase transformers. Hydropower stations generally use three-phase transformers, and only use single-phase transformers when restricted by transportation conditions and manufacturing capacity. When two types of boosted voltages are required in a hydropower station, a three-coil transformer or an autotransformer can be used. Transformers include oil-immersed self-cooled, oil-immersed air-cooled, forced oil-circulated air-cooled, and forced oil-circulated water-cooled. In the 1980s, China has produced 220kV, 360,000 kVA and 330kV, 360,000 kVA three-phase high-capacity transformers for use in the Liujiaxia Hydropower Station on the upper reaches of the Yellow River. In hydropower stations in Canada, Brazil, and the United States, the largest transformers that have been put into operation are 500-750kV, three-phase 1.3 million kVA, and single-phase 1 million kVA.
