Tranter Heat Exchanger Plate GC26 GX100 Made Of Stainless Steel Titanium Hastelloy Nickel Molybdenum
SondexHeat Exchanger Plates
Heat exchanger plates are specifically designed for isolating fluids and facilitating heat exchange in plate heat exchangers. There are three main types of heat exchanger plates: herringbone corrugated plates, horizontal flat corrugated plates, and embossed plates.
A gasketed plate heat exchanger consists of multiple stamped corrugated thin plates, which are stacked at specified intervals and sealed with gaskets. The plates and gaskets are compressed together using a frame and tightening screws. The four corner holes of the plates and gaskets form fluid distribution and collection channels. This design effectively separates the hot and cold fluids, allowing them to flow in the respective channels on either side of each plate and undergo heat exchange.
The plate heat exchanger is a new type of high-efficiency heat exchanger made of stacked metal plates with a certain corrugated shape. The structure includes gaskets, compression plates (movable end plates, fixed end plates) and frames (upper and lower guide rods) , front support), the plates are sealed and guided by sealing gaskets to separate the cold/hot fluid channels. The cold/hot heat exchange medium flows through the respective channels and exchanges heat with the separated plates. exchange to achieve the user's desired temperature.
There are openings at the four corners of each plate. After being assembled into a plate bundle, a distribution pipe and a collecting pipe for the fluid are formed. After the heat exchange of the cold/hot medium, the heat is returned from the respective collecting pipes for recycling.
Selection of plate material for plate heat exchangers:
Common tap water:For pure water applications, stainless steel 304 is commonly chosen. However, for well water, river water, closed-loop circulating water, and other complex media, stainless steel 316 is preferred due to its superior corrosion resistance compared to 304. In the case of seawater, pure titanium (GR1) is the preferred choice due to the high concentration of chloride ions. Alternatively, for a cost-effective option, super stainless steel 254SMO can be used in environments with higher chloride ion content than 316.
Acid:For dilute sulfuric acid with a concentration below 10% and a temperature below 50℃, stainless steel 316 can be used. However, if the concentration is higher, materials such as stainless steel 904L, 254SMO, or Hastelloy alloy C276 are required. The same principle applies to phosphoric acid and hydrochloric acid.
Steam:Steam conditions are commonly encountered. In the southern regions, stainless steel 316L is typically chosen since steam temperatures are generally above 120℃. In the northern regions, considering cost factors, some customers may opt for stainless steel 304. However, it should be noted that prolonged use of stainless steel 304 in high-temperature steam applications may result in deformation of the plate heat exchanger.
Oil:For general equipment lubricating oil and hydraulic oil applications, stainless steel 304 is suitable. For high-temperature heat transfer oil, where high-temperature resistance is required, stainless steel 316 is recommended.
