The rotating drums roll larger pieces of material to allow all fines to flow down and through the trommel screen plates. It is well known for its large processing capacity of compound fertilizer. And it is also a good choice for the classification of refractory materials, coal, sand , sandstone block, limestone, metallic or non-metallic minerals etc.

Working Principle of Rotary Trommel Screen Sifter for Municipal Solid Waste Sorting System:
The trommel screen's main structure is cylindrical drum, which is inclined and installed on the frame. The geared motor is connected to the drum device through a coupling, the driving drum will rotate around the axis direction. When the materials enters the drum device, due to the tilt and rotation of the drum device, the materials on the screen surface is overturned and rolled so that the fine material is discharged through the discharge port at the bottom of the back end of the drum of trommel screen, and the coarse material is discharged through the discharge port at the tail of the drum discharge. As the material in the drum devise flip, rolling, so the materials stuck in the sieve can be ejected to prevent the sieve blocking.

The trommel screen mainly consists of motor,reducer,roller device, frame, sealing cover and inlet & outlet. Due to the turning and rolling of the material in the drum, the material stuck in the screen hole can be ejected to prevent the screen hole from being clogged.
Rotary screen is mounted obliquely on the frame. The motor is coupled to the drum unit via coupling and reducer to drive the drum unit to rotate about its axis. After the material enters the trommel screen, due to the tilting and rotation of the roller device, the material on the sieve surface is turned over and rolled, so that the qualified material (the product under the sieve) is discharged through the discharge port at the bottom of the rear end of the drum, and the unqualified material (upper screen product) is discharged through the discharge port at the end of the drum.
