Description
Vertical mills can be divided into four categories: coal mills, raw material mills, cement mills (grinding clinker), and slag mills. Due to different functions and abrasives, there are significant differences in the timing and methods of repair when wear leads to a decrease in production.
When excessive wear occurs on the grinding rollers and disc liners, production will decrease, and the decrease in production means a waste of energy. Removing and replacing the grinding roller and disc lining plate is a time-consuming and labor-intensive project.
Cast grinding rollers made of high chromium cast iron. This is currently a commonly used method, usually with a carbon content of about 3% and a chromium content of about 21%. Both of them generate Cr7C3 embedded in the iron base (austenite or martensite) at high temperature, forming a very wear-resistant structure, with a Rockwell hardness HRC of about 56. The risk of high chromium cast iron is the problem of fracture. There are two main reasons for fracture: firstly, the hardness is too high. The higher the carbon and chromium content, the higher the hardness and wear resistance, but the possibility of fracture also increases; The second issue is the uniformity of hardness. When high chromium cast iron is cast and its hardness is improved by heat treatment, if the difference in hardness uniformity is too large (usually the difference in Vickers hardness HV cannot exceed 30), fracture will occur. So as the volume of the object increases, the more difficult it is to control the uniformity, and the greater the possibility of fracture.
