Compressor installation steps
1. Power Supply: The compressor receives power from the vehicle's electrical system. Usually, this power is provided through a belt drive connected to the engine.
2. Refrigerant Intake: The compressor suction port draws in low-pressure refrigerant gas from the evaporator. This gas is typically in a vapor form.
3. Compression: The compressor compresses the refrigerant gas using a piston or scroll mechanism. This process increases the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant.
4. Heat Dissipation: As the refrigerant gas is compressed, it becomes hot. The compressed gas is discharged from the compressor to the condenser, where it releases heat to the surrounding air.
5. Condensation: The high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas entering the condenser transitions into a liquid state as it cools down. This occurs through the release of heat to the environment.
6. Cool Air Generation: The condensed liquid refrigerant then flows to the expansion valve or orifice tube, which controls its flow rate into the evaporator.
7. Evaporation: Inside the evaporator, the liquid refrigerant evaporates and absorbs heat from the cabin air blown over it via the blower motor. This results in cooler air being circulated inside the car.
8. Refrigerant Return: The low-pressure, low-temperature refrigerant vapor exiting the evaporator returns to the compressor's suction port, completing the refrigerant cycle.
By following this process, the automotive air conditioning compressor ensures that the refrigerant continuously circulates, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the vehicle.
