A used centrifuge is a machine that uses centrifugal force to accelerate the separation of different substances that need to be separated. It has a wide range of applications in chemical industry, petroleum, food, mineral processing, water treatment and shipbuilding. The main principle of the second-hand sedimentation centrifuge is to generate strong centrifugal force through high-speed rotation of the rotor to accelerate the sedimentation rate of different specific gravity components (solid or liquid phase) in the mixture, so as to separate the sample with different sedimentation rates and buoyancy density.
The suspended matter in the charging cylinder forms a ring liquid layer under the action of centrifugal force, and the solid particles settle on the drum wall to form a sediment. The clarified liquid is discharged through the overflow port or suction pipe and is called the separation liquid. Finally, the sludge is discharged manually or mechanically. When the solid particles settle to the drum wall, they also move axially with the flow of the liquid. When the feed is too much, the fine particles that have not settled to the drum wall are discharged with the separation liquid, and the separation liquid is cloudy. For difficult separation suspension with small solid-liquid density difference, small solid particles and large liquid viscosity, sedimentation centrifuges with high separation factor should be selected to extend the time of suspension at the drum (for example, reducing the feed amount or using a long drum, etc.) in order to ensure the clarification of the separation liquid.
The precipitation centrifuge is widely used, especially for centrifugal filtration because the solid particles in the filtration medium are easy to block the filtration medium and the filtration resistance is too large, or there are too many particles to separate the suspension, but the moisture content of the sediment is high.
Sedimentation centrifuges can be used for the separation of crystals, chemical sediments, coal and other suspensions, dewatering of various sewage sludge and slagging of animal and plant oils.
