Precautions for maintenance of silicone oil fan clutch
① When disassembling the engine and its components, if you need to remove the fan clutch, you should be careful not to lay it flat, but stand upright according to its working position to avoid leakage of silicone oil in the fan clutch from the central shaft.
② Be careful not to hit the bimetal in the center of the fan clutch. If it is too dirty, you can rinse and dry it.
③ If the fan clutch fails, you can check whether the bimetal is loose, you can install it and riveting it for a trial.
④ The rotation of the fan does not indicate whether the fan clutch is malfunctioning, because whether it is malfunctioning or the normal fan clutch is in a disengaged state, it will follow the water pump pulley to rotate. You can judge whether the fan clutch is normal by listening to the sound of the fan. When the water temperature of the normal fan clutch is higher than 86℃, the fan will make a normal sound; while the malfunction of the fan clutch, the sound is much smaller at this time.
⑤ When the engine fan clutch is found to be malfunctioning, loosen the two fastening nuts behind the fan, insert the end pin of the locking plate underneath it into the hole on the drive shaft, and then re-tighten the nut. In this way, the fan can be fixed on the shaft to rotate with it to ensure the cooling of the engine. Replace with a new fan clutch when necessary.
