The chromium element of 304 stainless steel plate has high chemical stability, can form a passive film on the surface of the steel, and add the corrosion resistance of the steel plate. So what conditions can corrode 304 stainless steel plate?
The 304 stainless steel plate has accumulated dust containing other metal elements or attachments of foreign metal particles. In the humid air, the attachment and the condensed water between the stainless steel plate connect the two to form a micro battery, which triggers electrochemistry. In response, the protective film was damaged, which is called electrochemical corrosion.
Appearance adheres to organic juices (such as melons, vegetables, noodle soup, sputum, etc.), in the presence of water and oxygen, it constitutes organic acids, and long-term organic acids will corrode the metal surface.
Surface adhesion contains acid, alkali, salt substances (such as alkaline water, lime water splashing on the decoration wall), causing local corrosion.
