Stab-in Casing Float Collar And Float Shoe API or As required
The stab-in float collar and shoe technique is an improved method used for cementing large diameter casing in drilling operations. This technique involves directly stabbing the drill pipe into either the float shoe or collar, allowing cement to be pumped through the drill pipe until it reaches the surface. To ensure proper cement placement, a wiper dart can be utilized to displace the cement to the bottom of the drill pipe. Once this is done, the drill pipe is lifted, circulated to ensure proper cement distribution, and then extracted from the hole.
It is important to note that when using stab-in float collar and shoe, large plugs are required to separate the cement from the mud. These plugs need to be drilled out along with any cement present in the casing. This technique is specifically designed for cementing large diameter casings that are lowered on drill pipes. Due to the high displacement volume associated with these large casings, special considerations must be taken into account during the cementing process.
