Wire mesh decks are an alternative option for longspan shelving systems where chipboard in not suitable, for example in cold stores or food or medical establishments. They have advantages over solid steel shelves in certain environments as they will let light through and allow sprinkler systems to work through them.
A perfect solution for creating picking locations, dividers are a common add on for wire mesh decking for both pallet racking and longspan shelving systems. The dividers simply click on to the deck wherever required and are available in a range of styles finishes and colours.
Types of Wire Decking Waterfall Designs:
Wire decking is designed in a variety of ways to meet the various requirements of the merchandise that is held. The standard outside waterfall design keeps decking secure when loads move into and out of the rack thanks to its standard 1-1/2″ waterfall over the front and back of the beam.
The inside waterfall design has no waterfall on front and back and keeps the surface flat, strong, and durable while leaving the beam face clear. A raised lip on the back of the deck of the reverse waterfall design prevents items and boxes from falling off the back of the rack and into the flue space (Keep in mind that reverse waterfall wire decking is not meant to stop pallets).
