GI Steel Coils Description

Galvanized Steel Coil is a carbon steel sheet coated with zinc on both sides, protected from corrosion by coating the steel surface with a layer of zinc. Galvanizing process usually involves immersing the steel coil in a molten zinc bath to form a metallurgical bond with the steel substrate,thus providing a protective zinc coating.There are two main processes used to produce galvanized steel: continuous hot dipping and electro-galvanizing.

The Zinc coating on the substrate acts as a barrier between the atmosphere and the surface of the steel, effectively preventing moisture and oxygen from contacting the steel sheet, thereby providing a continuous anti-corrosion barrier.Not only will zinc play the role of a barrier between the environment and the steel, but it will also allow itself to decompose first to protect the steel underneath and promote its longevity.

Galvanized Steel Coils Specifications

Galvanized steel sheet is cut from galvanized steel coil, the base material is cold rolled steel, it has good processing performance. The galvanized sheet coated with a zinc layer,features a smooth, flat,uniform thickness, strong adhesion, no peeling during processing, good corrosion resistance,and excellent adhesion to paint film. It can withstand high temperatures up to 315 ℃ and has excellent surface conductivity. The surface is smooth and clean, the size is accurate, the board surface is straight, the spangles are even and beautiful.

Hot-dip galvanized steel coils have high adhesion,corrosion resistance, and precisely controlled coating thickness. In addition,Galvanized steel is easy to process and weld, and also has a long service life when exposed to the atmosphere.

• Excellent anti-corrosion: Zinc has great anti-oxidation. The zinc layer on the surface of hot-dip galvanized steel coils can prevent the steel from direct contact with oxygen and moisture in the external environment,extending the service life.
• Strong durability: Not only will the zinc coating play the role of a physical barrier but also protects the steel underneath through electrochemical reactions (sacrificial anode action) when the coating is scratched or damaged.
• Good workability: Hot-dip galvanized steel coils maintain the processability of steel, and the zinc layer is thin and uniform, which does not affect the performance of steel during processing and forming.
