2, the surface
The most obvious difference lies in the surface, food grade 304 stainless steel tube surface should reach at least BA level, that is, bright surface; And the industrial pipe has no requirements for the surface, the surface is often rough, the key is high corrosion resistance.
3. Process requirements
For food grade 304 stainless steel pipe in direct contact with food, tube finish is very important. However, the inner wall of the tube needs to be polished and annealed to make the inner wall of the tube smoother and to prevent clogging if there is a liquid medium inside.
Industrial pipes are often used in polluted environments, so they require high oxidation resistance, so they are generally treated with pickling passivation. Pickling passivation can form a dense oxide film on the surface of the tube, which greatly improves the corrosion resistance of the tube.
