ASTM A182 F316L flanges are composed of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, molybdenum, nickel and nitrogen. The carbon content is limited to 0.03% of the total composition. These flanges are made up of corrosion and temperature resistant A182 F316L material with minimum yield strength of 217 MPa and minimum tensile strength of 485 MPa.SS 316L weld neck flanges are used in applications where the pipe can be held in place during the welding process. It can also provide an additional weld surface for the connection. There are different types of flanges, such as flat, convex, and annular connection flanges. These different types help in different application conditions. Convex flanges have better spacing on the convex side for 316L stainless steel hex bolts to pass through. Due to their low carbon content, 316L bolts, nuts and flanges are also suitable for welding. They avoid intergranular corrosion because they reduce carbide precipitation during the welding process.

316L stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, including resistance to acidic and alkaline environments. In addition, it offers high temperature strength, excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance.
