304 stainless steel flanges are martensitic stainless steel. The addition of nickel and molybdenum to ANSI B16.5 grade 150 stainless steel flanges provides excellent zero-notch ductility over other standards (i.e. 13 Cr, 410 and 420 Mod). Martensitic stainless steel. ASTM A182 F304 Flange Specification covers wrought alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, wrought fittings, valves and parts. At Yuhong, forgings are cooled after hot working to a specific temperature that meets specific requirements, such as heat treatment type, austenitization, solution temperature, cooling medium and quenching.
SS 304 sliding flanges are air hardened with minimal risk of cracking in thick sections during heat treatment. In addition to limiting the maximum allowable hardness to a maximum of 23 HRC, NACE MR0175 specifies heat treatment temperature limits.
