API 5L GR.B is a commonly used steel pipe material standard, a specification in API 5L, which is a pipeline for the transport of liquid (and gaseous) substances such as natural gas, water and oil. GB stands for national standard and API stands for American Petroleum Institute. GR.B indicates the steel pipe grade, which refers to the material grade of the pipe. Specifically, the chemical composition of the API 5L GR.B steel pipe has a low carbon content (about 0.30%), and also contains elements such as manganese, sulfur, and silicon, while having excellent weldability and processability. Its main characteristics are durability, good toughness, high strength, suitable for processing forging, welding, bending and cooling, widely used in natural gas, oil and other pipeline transportation and other various industrial equipment fields.
