Introduction

440C mainly used for manufacturing bearing parts that work in corrosive environment and non-lubricated strong oxidizing atmosphere. 440C has good high-temperature dimensional stability, so it can also be used as corrosion-resistant high-temperature bearing steel. In addition, it can also be used to manufacture high-quality knives, such as medical scalpels, scissors, nozzles, bearings, etc. 440F: It is a steel grade that improves the easy-cutting performance of 440C steel. It is used in automatic lathes and ordinary alloy steels. It has the characteristics of hardening through quenching. Therefore, a wide range of different mechanical properties can be obtained by selecting grades and heat treatment conditions. 440C has a lower ability to withstand dynamic loads.
Features
440: High-strength cutting tool steel with slightly higher carbon content. After proper heat treatment, higher yield strength can be obtained. The hardness can reach 58HRC, which is among the hardest stainless steels. The most common application example is the "razor blade". There are three commonly used models: 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F (easy processing type).

1. Carbon will increase hardness and strength, high content will reduce its ductility and corrosion resistance
2. Chromium can increase corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, refine grain, increase strength, hardness and wear resistance
3. Nickel can improve high temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and reduce cold work hardening rate
4. Molybdenum improves strength and has excellent corrosion resistance to oxides and seawater
5. Copper is good for cold forming and reduces magnetic properties
6. Mn is mainly used to reduce the magnetic properties of the material, but the content should not be too high.
