Description

However, it has strong white point sensitivity, poor welding performance, high and uniform hardness and good wear resistance. It is used to manufacture small cross-section quenched and tempered parts with large load, and large standardized parts with small stress.

It can be used to manufacture various bearing rings with wall thickness ≤12mm and outer diameter ≤250mm; also for rolling elements with a wide range of sizes, such as steel balls, tapered rollers, cylindrical rollers, spherical rollers, needle rollers, etc.; It is also used to manufacture molds, precision measuring tools and other mechanical parts that require high wear resistance, high elastic limit and high contact fatigue strength.

GCr15 representation method

1. The two digits at the beginning of the steel number indicate the carbon content of the steel, expressed as two thousandths of the average carbon content.

2. Except for a few trace alloying elements, the main alloying elements in steel are usually expressed in percentages.

3. Alloying elements in steel, such as vanadium V, titanium Ti, aluminum Al, boron B, and rare earth Re, are all microalloying elements. Although the content is very low, it should still be marked on the steel.

4. High-quality steel should be marked with "A" at the end to distinguish it from ordinary high-quality steel.

5. Special purpose alloy structural steel, the steel number with (or suffix) symbol represents the purpose of the steel.

Attention point of GCr15

1. The residual copper content (melting analysis) of the steel for bearing steel pipes should not exceed 0.2%.

2. The oxygen content is measured on the billet or steel.

3. The sulfur content (melting analysis) of wire rod steel should not exceed 0.02%.
