1. Extremely long useful life
The corrosion rate, i.e. the thickness of the aluminiumzinc coating that's lost per annum during a normal environment to which Aluzinc is freely exposed, may be a maximum of 20% of 1 micron (0.2 µm). It could therefore be said in theory that the useful lifetime of Aluzinc during a normal environment is quite 100 years. In real world Aluzinc has lasted quite 20 years in severe marin environment although within the first year the coating loses up to 0.4 µm.
