430 stainless steel coil

Corrosion Resistance :

Grade 430 has good resistance to a wide variety of corrosive enviornments, including nitric acid and some organic acids. It attains its maximum corrosion resistance when in the highly polished or buffed condition. In general its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is close to that of grade 430. Stress corrosion cracking resistance of Grade 430 is very high, as it is for all ferritic grades.

Heat Resistance :

Grade 430 resists oxidation in intermittent service up to 870°C and to 815°C in continuous service. This grade may become brittle at room temperature after prolonged heating in the 400-600°C range. This effect can be eliminated by annealing.

• 3. Cold rolling is generally used in the production of strip, the rolling speed is high;

• 5. Cold-rolled steel coil due to a certain degree of work hardening, low toughness, but can achieve better yield ratio, used for cold-formed spring and other parts;

• 6.Cold coil yield point closer to the tensile strength, so the use of risk in the process of no predictability, when the load exceeds the allowable load prone to accidents

• 7. The surface of the cold rolled steel coil without plating is gray.

• 8.Cold rolled steel coil surface smoothness is higher than the hot rolled steel coil.

Welding
Excellent weldability by all standard fusion and resistance methods, both with and without filler metals. Heavy welded sections in Grade 430 require post-weld annealing for maximum corrosion resistance. 

Machining
430 stainless steel tends to work harden if machined too quickly. For this reason low speeds and constant feed rates are recommended.
