What are the advantages of duplex steel?
1. The yield strength is more than double that of the commonly used 316L 308 stainless steel. And has sufficient plastic toughness required for molding. The wall thickness of the storage tank or pressure vessel made of duplex stainless steel is 30-50% less than that of the commonly used 316L, which is conducive to reducing costs.
2. Has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Even the least alloyed duplex stainless steel has higher resistance to stress corrosion cracking than austenitic stainless steel, especially in the environment containing chloride ions. Stress corrosion is a prominent problem that ordinary austenitic stainless steel is difficult to solve.
3. The corrosion resistance of 2205 duplex stainless steel, which is the most common application in many media, is better than that of ordinary 316L austenitic stainless steel, while super duplex stainless steel has extremely high corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance.
