What is crane rail? Look at its name. It means steel rails worked as runway. The track supported by the runway beams on which the crane travels.
Crane rail is not similar to steel rails that used in metro tracks or high speed railway tracks. It has its own material, dimensions, standard, and sizes. Compared with heavy rail or light rail, the height of crane rail is low, its head width is wider, and its waist size is also bigger.
Normally, rails are attached to the top of the runway beam of top running cranes. The wheels of the crane run on the rail. Crane rails connect with rail bolts or hold down fasteners for easier installation and adjustments. Crane rials significantly reduce friction, providing for smooth crane travel. They are extremely durable due to high metal hardness properties and will typically outlast other common rail systems.
