Basic product introduction:

• Carbomer 1342 is a polymer of acrylic acid bond and allyl sucrose or pentaerythritol allyl, also known as polyacrylic acid, carboxyvinyl copolymer.
• Its appearance is white loose powder, slightly special odor, strong hygroscopicity, soluble in ethanol, water and glycerol, the molecular structure contains 52%-68% carboxylic acid group, is weakly acidic.
• After being ionized by the neutralized carboxyl group, the molecular chains disperse and stretch into a greatly expanded state, and have viscosity, which can form a clarified viscous gel.

1. Solubility

1. Medical field

• Carbomer eye drops and eye gel can be used as a substitute for tears to treat dry eyes. By forming a transparent crystal gel with high viscosity and sticking to the surface of the cornea to store liquid, it can relieve dry eyes and other symptoms.

Advice:

• Recommended usage is 0.2~1.5wt %, while stirring the polymer evenly scattered in the medium, but to avoid agglomeration, fully stirred to disperse, and to pH 7.0~10 polymer has ideal thickening performance, after neutralization should avoid high-speed shear or stirring to reduce viscosity loss.

Using Tips:
