Mini SAS are designed to significantly reduce the cable size for storage systems currently using SAS 4-lane (4x or 4-lanes of data) and are being widely adopted for next-generation designs.The 36-position internal mini SAS cable assemblies are available in custom lengths of up to one meter. They are also available in three standard sideband configurations. Customized sideband configurations are available upon request.Mini SAS was developed to support data rates at 6.0 Gbps in order to meet the ongoing industry requirement for higher speed and greater bandwidths, This data rate is achieved via the use of high speed differential signals. One assembly is designed to support up to four channels of transmit and receive.
Mini SAS HD Introduction:

This 1/2 meter long cable uses 30 AWG wires and is intended for internal use. It has a one 36-pin SFF-8087 male Mini-SAS plug with locking latch on one end and has one 36-pin SFF-8087 male plugs on the other, allowing you to connect four SATA drives to an SAS controller. This is a Forward Breakout cable, meaning that it is intended to connect to a host/controller on the SAS end and to drives on the SATA end.
