Small Size 10D 431k Metal Oxide Varistor Fast Responding To Transient Over-Voltage
The main characteristics of varistors are wide working voltage range (6~3000V, divided into several files), fast response to overvoltage pulse (nanosecond level), strong ability to withstand impact current (100~2000A), and small leakage current (micro Ampere level), small temperature coefficient of resistance, high performance and low price, small size, it is an ideal protection component, which can form overvoltage protection circuit, noise elimination circuit, spark elimination circuit and absorption circuit. When overvoltage pulses are superimposed on the power supply network, after the varistor is connected, the peak waveform of the overvoltage will be flattened and limited within a certain range. When turning on or off the load circuit with inductive and capacitive, the DC waveform appears switching spikes, and the varistor can absorb this counter electric force in the circuit, thus effectively protecting the switching circuit from damage.
Commonly used varistors include silicon carbide varistors and zinc oxide varistors. Among them, zinc oxide varistors are more widely used. It uses zinc oxide as the main raw material and adds a variety of trace metal oxides. After mixed molding, A new type of ideal overvoltage protection device assembled by sintering. Its conductivity value changes nonlinearly with the change of applied voltage. People call it a varistor or a surge absorber.
