Metal bellows, also known as expansion joint, is composed of metal bellows and components, mainly to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline. It is a flexible thin-walled transverse bellows device with expansion function. Its principle is to use its elastic expansion function to compensate the axial displacement, angular displacement, transverse displacement and combined displacement caused by thermal deformation, mechanical deformation and various mechanical vibration. It has the functions of pressure resistance, sealing, corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, impact resistance, vibration and noise reduction. It can also reduce the deformation of the pipeline and improve the service life of the pipeline.
Performance of metal expansion bellows
The main elastic element of bellows metal is stainless steel bellows, which compensates the pipeline in axial, transverse and angular directions through the expansion and bending of bellows. It can play the following roles:
1. Absorb the axial, transverse and angular thermal deformation of the pipeline.
2. It can absorb equipment vibration and reduce the impact of equipment vibration on the pipeline.
3. It can absorb the pipeline deformation caused by earthquake and land subsidence.
4. Through a certain structural design, the metal bellows can reduce the seal failure caused by scaling.
