The rollers in lithium battery production equipment are made of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber lithium battery guide roller preparation process: Carbon fiber lithium battery guide rollers are actually similar to our common rollers, and the overall precision performance requirements are higher. Because the material is carbon fiber material, the guide roller has extremely light weight, better overall inertia, and also has very good corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance. There are three important steps in the preparation of carbon fiber lithium battery guide rollers: 

1. Make blanks 2. Rough processing stage 3. Finishing stage.

 

 

1. Making carbon fiber lithium battery guide roller roughness

 

The carbon fiber lithium battery guide roller is made from carbon fiber tubes step by step. First, the size of the carbon fiber tube is made according to the size of the carbon fiber guide roller. Winding and protrusion processes are both possible. Moreover, the carbon fiber guide roller is a round tube, so a roll forming process with better production efficiency can also be used.

First, the mold of the carbon fiber tube is made according to the drawing. There must be a margin here, especially for the inner diameter requirements are relatively high, the phenomenon of thermal expansion and contraction must be considered. Conventional T300 will not change much when it is formed at 200℃. Then the carbon fiber prepreg is cut according to the size of the guide roller. After cutting, the carbon fiber prepreg is rolled onto the mold layer by layer through the tube rolling machine to ensure that the ply in each direction is a complete ply of the tube. In this way, the structural stability of the produced carbon fiber guide roller will also be better. After rolling onto the mold layer by layer, the outer surface is wrapped with OPP film to fix the size of the tube after forming, and then

it can be sent to the curing furnace to complete the tube curing.

 

 

2. Rough processing stage

 

After the carbon fiber tube is made, it needs further processing. In the whole process, there are rough turning, semi-finishing turning, finishing turning, and rough grinding. The main purpose is to make the dimensional accuracy of the tube better meet the requirements, including the inner wall size, so that the aluminum parts can be perfectly embedded in the tube wall.

First, the rough processing stage is to quickly remove the excess parts of the inner diameter of the tube through the machine tool, and the grinder makes the surface accuracy better. In the rough processing stage, we must pursue work efficiency. The overall high precision must be completed by subsequent fine processing, and the problematic tubes must be found in time to avoid subsequent unqualified and delay production. Then it is semi-finishing. After the aluminum parts are embedded in the tube, further grinding is carried out to make the overall accuracy higher, and the corresponding water washing is carried out to check whether there are white spots, bubbles, pits, scratches, etc. on the surface, and the finishing is completed.

 

 

3. Finishing and surface treatment

 

After the rough machining is completed, it is necessary to spray paint, and then to perform fine machining, so that the entire guide roller surface size is within a few meters. Then, after fine turning and fine grinding, it is sent to the paint room for painting, including the spraying of surface gloss paint, and then dynamic balance test. If it meets the requirements, it will be packaged and shipped to customers.

 

 

What is the elastic modulus of carbon fiber materials?

 

Carbon fiber materials are widely recognized for their excellent chemical and physical properties. 

 It refers to the value of the product after deformation under force. The higher the value, the better the elastic modulus. For example, the carbon fiber modulus of T300 is about 230G. Compared with traditional steel, the elastic modulus of cold-rolled steel is 180G. Although the two do not look very good, it is necessary to consider that the density of carbon fiber materials is extremely low, which highlights the advantages.

In addition, carbon fiber materials can have a higher elastic modulus through layer design. Under normal unidirectional stress, the elastic modulus of unidirectional layers is better. This is why +45" layers have higher shear resistance.
