Trisodium phosphate 12 water (Na₃PO₄·12H₂O) has the
following main uses in industrial wastewater treatment:
1.Softened water quality
As a water softener, trisodium phosphate can react with calcium
and magnesium ions in water to generate insoluble precipitation, thereby reducing the hardness of water
and preventing equipment scaling.
2.Adjust pH
Trisodium phosphate is alkaline and can be used to neutralize acidic wastewater,
adjust the pH value to neutral or weakly alkaline,
and reduce the corrosion of acidic wastewater on equipment and the environment.
3.Removal of heavy metal ions
Trisodium phosphate can form insoluble phosphate precipitation with heavy metal ions (such as lead, copper, zinc, etc.),
which is easy to remove by filtration or precipitation.
4.Dispersion and suspension
In wastewater treatment, trisodium phosphate can disperse suspended particles,
prevent their deposition, and improve the subsequent treatment effect.
5.Corrosion inhibitor
Trisodium phosphate can form a protective film on the surface of the metal to slow down corrosion,
and is often used in circulating water systems.
6.Coagulant aid
As a coagulant aid, trisodium phosphate can enhance the effect of coagulants,
promote the condensation of suspended matter and colloidal particles, and facilitate separation.
7.Matters needing attention
Dosage control: Excessive use may lead to eutrophication of water.
Treatment of sediment: The resulting sediment needs to be properly treated to avoid secondary pollution.
Safe operation: Wear protective equipment when using, avoid direct contact.
