Hongqi is a high-end car brand directly operated by China FAW. On January 8, 2018, China FAW released the new Hongqi brand strategy, with the brand concept of "Chinese-style new nobleness and refinement". On July 31, 2018, the 60th anniversary celebration of the Hongqi brand officially kicked off. On October 23, 2018, the Hongqi brand signed a contract to become a diamond partner of the Fifth World Internet Conference. On January 29, 2019, FAW Hongqi and the Forbidden City officially reached a strategic cooperation. On March 26, 2019, the Hongqi brand joined hands with violin artist Yu Lina to jointly produce the original musical theater "True Love: Butterfly Lovers". On July 12, 2019, the first Hongqi Carnival was successfully held.
In December 2019, Hongqi was selected as one of the 100 model brands in the 2019 China Brand Power Ceremony.
In April 2022, China FAW joined hands with Israel's Samelet Group to hold a launch ceremony for Hongqi's flagship model E-HS9 in Tel Aviv, the central city of Israel, marking the official entry of Hongqi into the Israeli market.
