Advantage
The plate heat exchanger is easy to change the heat exchange area or process combination. As long as a few plates are added or reduced, the purpose of increasing or reducing the heat exchange area can be achieved; changing the plate arrangement or replacing a few plates can achieve the required Process combination to adapt to new heat exchange conditions, while the heat transfer area of shell and tube heat exchangers is almost impossible to increase.
The plate heat exchanger is light in weight, the thickness of the plate is only 0.4~0.8mm, while the thickness of the heat exchange tube of the shell and tube heat exchanger is 2.0~2.5mm, and the shell of the shell and tube type is heavier than the frame of the plate heat exchanger. Much more, the plate heat exchanger is generally only about 1/5 of the weight of the shell and tube type.
Classification
1. According to the heat exchange area in the unit space, the plate heat exchanger is a compact heat exchanger, mainly compared with the shell and tube heat exchanger, the traditional shell and tube heat exchanger occupies a large area.
2. According to the process use, there are different names: plate heater, plate cooler, plate condenser, plate preheater;
3. According to the process combination, it is divided into single-pass plate heat exchanger and multi-pass plate heat exchanger;
4. According to the flow direction of the two media, it is divided into co-current (parallel flow) plate heat exchanger, counter-flow plate heat exchanger, cross-flow (cross-flow) plate heat exchanger, the latter two are used more;
5. According to the gap size of the flow channel, it is divided into conventional gap plate heat exchanger and wide gap plate heat exchanger;
