Scope of application:
In order to prevent the precipitation of solid solution carbides, the cooling rate is also very important, especially at 600 ~ 700 ℃, the carbides precipitate more and sensitize, so it must be cooled quickly. Due to the low thermal conductivity of austenitic stainless steel, no matter how fast the material with large section is cooled, the cooling degree of the central part is still very slow, and sensitization often occurs due to more carbide precipitation. Therefore, in actual production, stabilized austenitic stainless steel with Ti, Nb and other elements is generally considered for materials with large cross-section. Because ti, Nb and other elements have a large affinity for carbon, this kind of stabilized austenitic stainless steel (such as 321, 347, etc.) can be rapidly cooled without water quenching or other rapid cooling measures.
