Scope of application:
Martensitic stainless steel and ferritic stainless steel: its alloy composition is mainly Cr, and its content is 12 ~ 8%. Common ones are 1Cr13, 2Cr13, 3Cr13, 4Cr13, 9Cr18, 30cr13mo, etc. after quenching and tempering, this kind of steel has appropriate hardness, strength and good oxidation resistance. During cutting, chips are easy to scratch and wear the tool. When the carbon content increases to 0.4 ~ 0.5%, the machinability of martensitic stainless steel becomes better. The main alloy composition of ferritic stainless steel is also Cr, and its content is similar to that of martensitic stainless steel. In machining, its performance is similar to the former, but its hardness is low and its toughness increases. In a word, the cutting process of these two kinds of stainless steel is not difficult as long as the tool materials are properly selected and matched with the appropriate geometric angle.
