Generalinformation:Theproductissensitivetomoistureandshouldtherefore bestoredinitssealedoriginalcontainers.Prolongedstorageattemperatures above 45 °C results in adeteriorationinqualityas theproductbecomes increasinglyturbidowingtotheformationofasediment(dimers)thatisnot readilysoluble.Storageattoolowatemperatureresultsincrystallizationwhich startsataround15°C.Thestorageofthecrystallizedproductabove5°Cmust beavoidedasthispromotestheformationofnon-meltabledimers.Asaresult,theproductcannolongerbefullymeltedafteraround3weeks.Toprevent crystallization,itmustbeensuredthattheproductdoesnotcooltobelow20°C.Uponreceipt,samplesoftheproductshouldbetestedforcrystallization. Ifcrystallization has occurred during transportation or storage, the product mustberemeltedimmediately.Onnoaccountshouldthetemperatureduring melting(materialtemperature)exceed70°Cnorshouldthetimeneededto reliquefytheproductbeexceededasthiswillgreatlypromotetheformation of non-meltabledimers. It should be ensuredthatthe entirecontentofthe containerisremeltedandhomogenized.Thecontainermustthenbeclosed immediately andits content cooledtoandkeptatthestandardstorage temperature(20-25°C). Iftheproductisinapartiallycrystallizedstatefor abriefperiod,therewillbenosignificanteffectontheproductquality.Only thestoragestabilitymaybereducedslightly,i.e.remeltedproductshouldbe usedassoonaspossible.
Storage time Covestrorepresentsthat,foraperiodofsixmonthsfollowingtheday of shipment as stated in the respective transport documents,theproduct will meet the specifications or values set forth in section "specifications or characteristicdata"above,whateverisapplicable,providedthattheproductis storedinfullcompliancewiththestorageconditionssetforthinandreferenced undersection"storage"aboveandisotherwisehandledappropriately.Thelapseofthesixmonthsperioddoesnotnecessarilymeanthattheproduct nolongermeetsspecificationsorthesetvalues.However,priortousingsaid product, Covestro recommends to test such a productifitstillmeetsthe specificationsorthesetvalues.Covestrodoesnotmakeanyrepresentation regardingtheproductafterthelapseofthesixmonthsperiodandCovestro shall not be responsibleor liable in anywayforthe productfailingto meet specificationsorthesetvaluesafterthelapseofthesixmonthsperiod.
