Screw Pin Dee Shackles / Chain Shackles

Product Description

On our screw pin dee shackle, a threaded pin is inserted through the ears and tightened down. The shackles have a large rounded shape that allows them to take loads from many directions without developing significant side load.

Dee Shackles, also referred to as Chain Shackles, which have a D-shaped bow that is narrower than Anchor / Bow Shackles. They are designed and rated for in-line tension, they should not be side loaded, as side loading can twist or bend the bow of the shackle. When using a chain shackle, the center line of the load should always coincide with the center line of the shackle when in use.

Our screw pin dee shackle is ideal for use with multiple-leg slings, connecting slings to load rings, and accommodating a wider strap. However, reduction to the WLL must be accounted for when used in a side-loading situation.

The screw pin configuration is best for use in applications that are temporary, or require repeated and/or quick connections and disconnections.They are not recommended for permanent or long-term installations.

Be aware that a live line, such as a sling being used in a choker hitch configuration, can cause the screw pin to be rotated, torqued, or twisted which can cause the pin to unthread itself. Always tighten the pin prior to each lift. When using a screw pin shackle, the screw pin threads shall be fully engaged, tight, and the shoulder should be in contact with the shackle body.

Main features:

- All screw pin shackles are quenched and tempered, with high quality carbon steel shackle bows and alloy steel pins.

- Shackles bows are all hot dip galvanized, screws pins are painted yellow or customized upon request.

- Meets or exceeds all requirements of ASME B30.26-2004 and RR-C-271D.

- Proof Load is 2 times of the Working Load Limit. Minimum Breaking Load is 6 times of the Working Load Limit.
