The pre-motor filter is located near the vacuum cleaner's motor. Its purpose is to protect the motor from debris and dust. Nylon(polyamide) mesh and polyester mesh are the mostly used for the pre-motor filter in the vacuum cleaner.

Laser cutting allows for elaborate shapes to be cut that are specific to the customer’s design needs. The mesh shapes can be also produced in single or double layers. The high-precision laser cut parts are characterized by closed edge quality. Another cutting method, ultrasonic punching enables precisely defined openings to be made in filter mesh in the highest quality. These mesh shapes are convenient for custom injection moulding.
