The average thickness of the material, as tested by ASTM D1000, is 1.15mm.

The material has an average weight of 1.50kg/m 2 , as measured by standard testing methods.

The minimum breaking strength of the material, tested using ASTM D1000, is 200 N/50mm.

Water vapor transmission, as determined by the ASTM E96 - 66 Procedure A, has an average of 0.006 perms. Elongation at break averages at 10%.

When tested using the 55% overlap method, the material has a minimum breakdown voltage of 16 kV.

Resistance to cathodic disbonding over a 30-day period, as per ASTM G-8, has an average of 180 mm 2.

The material has excellent resistance to acids, alkalies, and salts.

The maximum service temperature for the material is 55°C.

Roll widths are available in sizes ranging from 50 to 300 mm, while each roll has a length of 10m.

To properly prepare surfaces for coating, it is important to first remove any loose scale, rust or foreign matter. This can be achieved through SSCP SP2 "Hand Tool Cleaning" or SP3 "Power Tool Cleaning". Additionally, a high-pressure water wash with a pressure of 3,000 - 7,000 psi (20.68 - 48.26 MPa) may also be an option.

After the surface has been properly cleaned, a thin film of petroleum paste should be applied. Then, using a spirally wrapping technique with a 55% overlap, tape should be wrapped around the surface. It is important to press out any air pockets and ensure that all lap seams are smooth during application.

However, irregular surfaces such as valves and flanges may require the use of Petroleum Filler Mastic or Profiling Mastic in addition to the petroleum paste.
