The manufacturing process for crushed raw coal granular activated carbon begins with the careful selection of high-quality coal that meets specific performance criteria, including low ash and moisture content. The coal is then subjected to a crushing process to achieve a uniform particle size, typically within the range of 1-5 mm. Following this, the crushed coal is dried to reduce moisture levels, which is crucial for effective activation.

The dried coal undergoes a thermal activation process in either a rotary kiln or an activation chamber, where it is heated to temperatures between 800°C and 1000°C in the presence of steam or carbon dioxide. This activation enhances the material's pore structure and surface area, aiming for an iodine value of 950 mg/g.

Post-activation, the granular activated carbon is cooled to prevent re-adsorption of contaminants. Additional treatments may be applied, such as washing or sieving, to further optimize the product’s properties.
