The tightness of the cuff of the sphygmomanometer has an effect on the result of blood pressure measurement. If the cuff is too loose, the cuff requires a relatively high pressure during inflation, which reduces the contact area between the cuff and the surface, making the blood pressure value higher during measurement and unable to accurately reflect the patient's actual blood pressure level. 1. Prepare before tying the cuff

Before tying the cuff, you should first turn on the switch of the mercury sphygmomanometer to check whether the liquid level of the mercury column is below zero scale, otherwise you should open the air bag switch and squeeze the cuff to make the mercury column at zero scale. 2. Cuff up

First, ask the patient to straighten their arms, palms up, and relax their muscles.
