► Several criteria for determining the aging of biochemical analyzer bulbs:

(1) There is an abnormality in the indoor quality control. When conducting daily indoor quality control, if calibration items are done on the same day, the quality control items are generally satisfactory and meet the indoor quality control standards within ± 2SD. However, significant errors occurred before the daily calibration project was carried out, exceeding the designated range. The aging of light bulbs is an important factor contributing to this situation.

(2) Batch results show an abnormal * sign. When conducting specimen testing, there is often an asterisk (*) mark after the continuous appearance of results in a large batch of specimens. Excluding cases where the reaction concentration is abnormally high during specimen testing using the rate method, it is impossible for batch results to have an abnormal asterisk (*).

After careful analysis and determination of the reaction curves, it can be found that the reaction curves with * marked results are irregular and not linear, which should be considered to be caused by the aging of the light bulb and unstable light source.

(3) There is an abnormal phenomenon in the photoelectric correction. When performing instrument photoelectric calibration, when the set value of 0.100 was entered in the Abs check Range, all photoelectric calibration colorimetric cups showed abnormalities, and the observed OD value of the colorimetric cup absorbance was significantly higher than before, indicating the failure of photoelectric calibration. This indicates that the light bulb is aging and can no longer be used.

(4) The lifespan of light bulbs is extended. The Olympus AU 640 fully automatic biochemical analyzer has a lifespan of 1500 hours for the light bulb. If the service life of a light bulb in an instrument exceeds the expected lifespan, the aging problem of the bulb should be considered first when a malfunction occurs, and early detection and replacement should be achieved
